(postmodern) (monk)
They say that postmoderns question everything because they are skeptical of absolutes, suspicious of a meta-narrative or great story in which we play a part.
We are post-modern in the sense that we do question everything. We are skeptical of the status quo and we have learned over time the oft quoted truth that “we like to think that we see things as they are, when we really see them as we are”.
So we observe, we question, and we delight in finding the beauty of a metanarrative played out through the stories of people and faith and culture.
We are postmodern monks, holding within our hands the sacred symbols of our story: the world and the cross. We balance them in our hands–delving into the stories found within.
we are skeptics. we are explorers. we are listeners. we are storytellers. we are amazed.
